CASE_ID_NUM: SRZ060324000881 MESSAGE: ********************** The message for you follows ************************ Dear Frank, Thank you for your feedback. First, I deeply apologize for the delay in my response. I understand that the problem persists. After checking the attachment, I found that the product key has not been correctly imported. Let's try the following steps: 1. Click Start, Click Run, type: regedit 2. Highlight HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE 3. Click the File menu, then click Load Hive 4. On the Load Hive screen where it says File Name type in %windir%\repair\software Then, you receive a popup box and for the keyname type test123 Now we have to add the information from the test123 to the regular HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\.....\winlogon\notify key Here's 2 different methods, I suggest carefully try the first method first. In case, you feel that it is not convenient for you to complete the first method, please try the second one: Method 1:. ----------- 1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\test123\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon and right click on the notify subkey and choose export, save it to the desktop as notify 2. Go to the desktop, right click on the notify file and choose edit This will open the file in notepad, click on edit, click replace 3. For find what put in test123, for replace with put in software, then click Replace All 4. Save the file Now go to the desktop and run the notify file from the desktop, then reboot. Method 2 ---------- 1. Click Start and click run. 2. Type: cmd 3. type the following in the black screen (or you can also copy and past the following command to the black screen): reg copy "hklm\test123\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify" "hklm\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\notify" /s /f 4. Press Enter. Then reboot Please let me know if the above method can resolve this Windows Update issue. If you encounter any difficulty when performing the above steps, please do not hesitate to tell me. If you get any error message, please capture a screenshot for me: Screenshot =============== 1. When the error message appears, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click Start, click Run, type MSPAINT, and click OK. 3. In Paint, click Paste under the Edit menu, click Save under the File menu, type a file name for the snap shot, choose JPEG as "Save as type", and click Save. Please send the JPEG file to v-30same@mssupport.microsoft.com in a new email. If the problem persists, please help me collect the latest registry key information: 1. Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT, and click OK. 2. After we open the registry editor, locate this branch using the (+) icon in the left pane: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify 3. Please click on Notify in the left pane, right click on the branch name Notify and choose Export. 4. Save the branch to your desktop with a name Notify. 5. Go back to your Desktop; right-click on the saved file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". 6. A new file (compressed file) will be generated. Please send it to me at: v-30same@mssupport.microsoft.com directly. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
