My small coil is powered by a 9kV 30mA NST.

The specification are:

    Input:

        0-140VAC Variac Controller

        ACTown 9kV 30mA NST

        Input fusing and power factor correction

            2.5 amp fast blow fuse

            Corcom dual stage AC line filter

            MOV AC over voltage protection

            60uF 180 VAC Power Factor Correction caps

    Charging Circuits:

        Protection Filter

            4 x 1800 volt 2500 amp MOVs on each leg

            360pF capacitance to ground on each leg

            5K ohm 25 watt isolation resistor on each leg

            Safety gap to ground on each leg

    Primary Circuit:

        Primary Cap

            24nF MMC

                3 rows by 7 of 1600V 0.056uF poly pulse caps

                10m ohm 1/2 watt resistor across each cap

        Primary Coil

            13 turns of 1/4 inch copper tubing

            Inner dia. 6.8 inches

            Pitch 0.5 inches

            Tap point 7.75 turns

            18.75uH inductance

            Four ferrite noise suppression cores

        Spark Gap

            120 BPS Rotary sync gap

            1800 RPM 1/4HP modified A.O Smith motor

            Two stationary brass electrodes

            Dual stage line filter and MOVs on motor AC input

            Lexan base with all copper/brass current path

                4.25 inch dia x 26.125 winding length

                1180 turns #24 enameled magnet wire
