These are scanned photographs of the new & improved junk box coil powered by the twin MOT power supply at about 3KVA. I used an old Yashica Electro-35 range finder 35mm loaded with generic 200ASA color print film. I mounted it on a tripod and fitted it with a shutter cable to eliminate camera movement. The aperture setting was f4, and the shutter was set to "B". Exposure time was hand-held about 1 second (one-Mississippi) for all shots. I used additional light for a few shots, but most were made using only light produced by the Tesla coil. I tried a couple with one 60 Watt Tungsten bulb still lit in the far corner of the garage, but it was too much light, and the sparks are badly washed out. I tried a couple more shots with a very small, battery operated florescent camping light aimed at the coil, and these turned out much better. The little tube lamp illuminated the coil without washing out the streamers. I shot 24 frames, and all of them turned out well. I selected the most interesting ones to post here. Happy viewing.
