Turns ratio is > actually the best you can do if k = 1. I agree with Malcolms comments. We're digressing here, because the pri-sec strikes are a different matter to the racing arcs. The latter are related to the longitudinal gradient, while the former to the PD between points on the secondary and nearby objects. We don't actually need a voltage maxima for these 'external' strikes, just a sufficient voltage somewhere on the coil. The model can of course compute the secondary voltage under out of tune conditions, but the problem is presenting the resulting data in a clear way.
