Perhaps those with NS6 and NS7 having trouble with running the geotc test script, could try running the javascript test page at http://www.umsu.de/jsperf/index2.php According to the typical results shown, NS6 isn't any worse than NS4. Put in your cpu speed and RAM size and run the tests. At the end your results appear in a nice table alongside the standard values. See if any show as particularly bad. There seem to be a few speed issues with NS6 & 7. String concatenation, accessing document objects for form values, etc. eg http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117611 But none appear to be serious enough to really slow it down by factors of tens or hundreds. Perhaps the above tests will shed some light. Is there an option in NS6/7 to enable/disable javascript debugging? If so, need to make sure debugging is off. Perhaps there's an option that sets script execution priority. Oh well, looking on the bright side, we don't seem to be having any trouble with the program itself, and the x7 user interface is IMO much easier to grasp. -- Paul Nicholson, --
